Today at the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center the CTIA Wireless 2006 is getting under way and Nokia are unveiling a new selection of devices.
Nokia 6126
A quad-band phone with 1.3 megapixel camera, music player with removable memory available via hot-swappable card, Bluetooth, video ring tones, and a large 16 million color screen display. The main feature of this phone is probably it's sleakness - it's just 17mm thick, 48mm wide and 112g in weight. It looks like a challenger to Motorola's range of slim phones.
Nokia 2365i
Entry level phone with Bluetooth technology, internal antenna and FM Radio.
Nokia 6175i
Mid-tier flip phone with a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth technology, internal antenna, large color display and stereo FM radio.
In addition Nokia are showing off their new Nokia Eseries (E60, E61, E70) business devices and the Nokia 9300 device (the new Communicator?). The Nokia 770 is also being demonstrated. This looks a mini laptop and can interface with WiFi to enable broadband access.
Also on the menu is a new technology called UMA (unlicensed mobile access) which enables a phone to seamlessly swap from Wireless LAN transmission to Cellular transmission.
